Healthcare and Bioscience iNet
iNets
The Regional Innovation Strategy and Action Plan (RIS) developed by East Midlands Innovation recommends that emda creates business-led innovation Networks (iNets) focused on our regional industrial and research strengths across four priority sectors.
The Healthcare and Bioscience iNet
The Healthcare and Bioscience iNet is a new region-wide initiative co-ordinating support for businesses, universities and individuals working in the healthcare and bioscience sector.
The iNet will help build on the East Midlands’ tradition of innovation in healthcare and bioscience by showing how to research, develop and implement products, services and processes.
It will also create opportunities to develop knowledge and skills, and to network with others through a programme of sector-specific events. Specialist healthcare and bioscience advisors will provide easy access to information, advice and support to innovate and grow, enhance competitiveness and increase the contribution to the regional economy.
Medilink East Midlands runs the iNet through a consortium of industrial, academic and clinical partners – including businesses, universities, public sector representatives and individuals. Partners include Medilink East Midlands, BioCity, bioKneX, East Midlands NHS Innovation Hub and the following universities: Derby, Leicester, Loughborough, Nottingham and NottinghamTrent.
This consortium builds on a well-established informal network of people and organisations – both in and outside the East Midlands region.
