Driving innovation
The four European Regional Development Fund and East Midlands Development Agency funded iNets each hosted flagship activity during the 2010 iFestival. Their events demonstrated, recognised and celebrated the region's most innovative businesses, entrepreneurs and higher education institutions.
Transport iNet
iRail18th March, The Roundhouse, Derby
The iRail event was hailed a great success by all who were involved. The full day of activity saw rail professionals team up with academia and industry bodies to support more than 70 students from Derby and Derbyshire schools in a Dragons’ Den style engineering challenge. Businesses also had the chance to network and hear from esteemed Professor Roderick Smith from Imperial College of Engineering.
iShowcase 2010 – the future of food and drink
23rd March, The University of Nottingham
At this exciting gathering delegates were presented with showcases from a range of Food and Drink iNet funded initiatives and collaboration research projects.
iThrive 2010 – you talked...we listened
25th March, Center Parcs, Sherwood Forest
Over 100 delegates from businesses within the food and drink sector attended this hugely successful event.

Medilink East Midlands Innovation Day
15th April, Pride Park, Derby
Delegates received a range of presentations and showcases before networking and enjoying the atmosphere over dinner with inspirational speakers.
Sustainable Construction iNet innovation awards ceremony
19th April, Whittlebury Hall Hotel, Northampton
Wayne Hemingway MBE entertained guests and award winners at this celebration of outstanding achievements in the East Midlands sustainable construction sector.
