2009 iFestival iNet events

The Transport iNet wowed over 100 delegates from the sector on 12th March with keynote speaker Michael Ryan – cofounder of Ryanair. Sustainable transport: design for the future was delivered in partnership with Yorkshire Forward, with attendees from that region and the East Midlands gaining insight, expertise valuable new contacts.

The Sustainable Construction hosted Breaking new ground: the iHub exemplar on 24th March. Michael Pawlyn – a principal architect of the Eden Project – headlined its event, which included a tour of the site of iCon – the building that will house the Sustainable Construction iHub, or physical focus of the iNet.

Distinctive newspaper columnist and entrepreneur Guy Browning ran the Food and Drink iNet’s Bucking the trend in the food and drink industry workshop-styled event, on 26th March. Around 70 delegates participated in the sessions at the University of Nottingham Innovation Park.

The Healthcare and Bioscience iNet’s event was tied to the annual Medilink East Midlands Innovation Day and Awards. Taking place this year on 2nd April, former BBC Dragon Richard Farleigh addressed and took questions from over 220 delegates from the regional sector assembled in Derby.
