iNets

iNets are organisations established to encourage innovation stakeholders to undertake innovative activities. Innovation stakeholders include small and large businesses, universities and colleges, representatives of the public sector and individuals with an interest in innovation.

Four sector specific iNets bring together innovation stakeholders with a shared interest in a market sector or the technologies that underpin it. The iNets cover:

These sectors have been chosen as they represent regional business and research strengths on which to build. They are competitive and have growth potential. Each iNet utilises existing, informal networks of organisations and facilities, and will strengthen links between them. iNets are also being supported to develop a physical presence (iHub), which will assist this process.

The iNets provide a holistic service to business, and are part of the Business Link service within the East Midlands
